From brief to finished film.

How we told a story of loneliness and friendship with care.

01 · The brief

Show what an afternoon can do

Contact the Elderly wanted a film that showed the difference its tea parties make to older people living alone, and encouraged more people to volunteer and host.

03 · The outcome

A gentle, moving film

A 2 min 20 sec film that moves from loss to friendship, told entirely in his own words. Shared across online, digital and social channels.

02 · Our approach

Follow one journey

We interviewed him at home among his photographs, then followed the day itself: the volunteer knocking at the door, the drive, and the tea party with its scones, tea and conversation.
