A commemoration, filmed for the record.

Event filming for the Royal British Legion’s Remembering Kosovo commemoration at the Armed Forces Memorial, National Memorial Arboretum. We interviewed veterans and Legion staff, filmed the service from arrivals to wreath laying, and delivered a fully logged interview and B-roll package alongside short highlight edits.

How we filmed Remembering Kosovo.

01 · The brief

Mark a peacekeeping mission

The Legion wanted its commemoration of British forces’ peacekeeping role in Kosovo filmed in full, with interviews it could use across its channels and keep for its archive.

03 · The outcome

A package ready to edit

A 20 minute interview and B-roll package, chaptered for easy editing, plus three highlight edits. Shared across online, digital and social channels.

02 · Our approach

Interviews first, then the whole service

We interviewed Royal Marines veteran Harris Tatakis and Anthony Metcalfe of the Legion, then covered the arrivals, speeches, band, Exhortation and Last Post, wreath laying and photography exhibition.

In the film

“It’s important to remember because even though it was a peacekeeping operation, British lives were lost during our time out there.”

Harris Tatakis, Royal Marines veteran

In the film

“It’s also really important to reflect on more recent conflicts… and ensure that veterans have the chance to share their experiences and to come together with their fellow veterans at events like today.”

Anthony Metcalfe, Royal British Legion
