Charity film · DKMS

The day a donor met the woman he helped save.

A charity film for DKMS, the blood stem cell donor charity. Lee registered as a donor with a simple cheek swab; Jennifer travelled from Canada to meet him. We filmed them both before, during and after their first meeting at Chiswick House in London, and captured why registering matters, in their own words.

How we filmed the first meeting.

01 · The brief

Make registering feel real

DKMS wanted to show what a few minutes of registering as a donor can mean for someone with blood cancer, through two people whose lives are now linked.

03 · The outcome

Real emotion, in their own words

A full set of interviews, meeting coverage and portraits for DKMS to use across online, digital and social channels.

02 · Our approach

Two stories, one meeting

We interviewed Lee and Jennifer separately, then filmed the meeting itself as it happened, followed by a joint interview and portraits together in the grounds.
