Documentary film · Royal British Legion

One veteran’s story, told in her own words.

A beneficiary film for the Royal British Legion. Leanne joined the Army with big ambitions, until an injury in training ended her career. Filmed at home and in the places that helped her recover, she tells how the Legion’s support helped her find her purpose again.

From brief to finished film.

How we told one veteran’s recovery story with care.

01 · The brief

Show what support really means

The Legion wanted a film that showed what its support means to someone whose service ended unexpectedly, told by the person who received it.

03 · The outcome

An honest, hopeful film

A 3 min 17 sec beneficiary film that moves from the moment her career ended to the confidence she has found since, through mentoring, CV workshops and recovery courses. Shared across online, digital and social channels.

02 · Our approach

Her home, her words, her photos

We interviewed Leanne at home, with her dog by her side, and wove her own photos from service and hospital into new footage of the walks, activities and recovery courses that helped her rebuild.
