Writers who approach the Royal Literary Fund are often going through a difficult time. The Fund wanted a film that explained every step of applying for a grant clearly and kindly, so people know what to expect and what to prepare.

02 · Our approach

Simple illustration, warm tone

We animated the film in a simple hand-drawn style, in the RLF's cream and orange palette, following a writer at their desk. Each step is a single, clear scene: eligibility, what grants can and can't cover, the documents needed, the meeting with the grants team and the committee's decision.
